IPRA Services
1. Advance weekly text advice to Retailers on forecast movement on
wholesale prices for the coming week.
- This is valuable information in timing optimal buying arrangements. It also
promotes better cash flow on high value fuel costs.
2. Up to date wholesale prices are also posted on the IPRA website each week.
- This is important information for independent retailers particularly when negotiating contracts.
- There are differences between the highest and lowest prices
- This can impact on the net prices charged to retailers over the contract term.
3. Expansion eg Tesco, has caused closure of many independent retailers
in Europe due to their aggressive pricing.
- IPRA makes objections when justified and appropriate on behalf of its members.
- Successful objections to date: Tesco in Carrick on Shannon, Ballinrobe and Baileborough.
4. The IPRA has a dedicated media person (David Blevings), lobbying on behalf of the industry.
- Responsible for the abolition of duty on Kerosene for Home Heating purposes.
- Canvassed and met the then Minister, Mr. Brian Cowen, to achieve this duty elimination.
- Experienced lobbyist with Government on behalf of the Industry.
- We were successful in our submission to the Minster in insuring that the duty
